二月黄莺飞上林,春城紫禁晓阴阴。

阳和不散穷途恨,霄汉长怀捧日心。
献赋十年犹未遇,羞将白发对华簪。

English Meaning
Second month: orioles fly over Shanglin Park; spring city, the palace under dawn shadow. The bells of Changle fade beyond the flowers; the dragon pool's willows deepen in the rain. Mild spring cannot disperse the gloom of my dead-end road; toward the heavens I still hold a heart that would bear up the sun. Ten years presenting rhapsodies, still unrecognized — ashamed before your court cap, my white hair.

About the Poem
A request-poem by Qian Qi to the court official Pei. Palace splendor fills the first half; the poet's unfulfilled decade fills the second — flattery kept honest by self-pity.
