Original Poem
荒戍落黄叶，浩然离故关。
高风汉阳渡，初日郢门山。
江上几人在，天涯孤棹还。
何当重相见，樽酒慰离颜。
Pinyin
huāng shù luò huáng yè， hào rán lí gù guān。
gāo fēng hàn yáng dù， chū rì yǐng mén shān。
jiāng shàng jǐ rén zài， tiān yá gū zhào hái。
hé dāng zhòng xiāng jiàn， zūn jiǔ wèi lí yán。
English Meaning
Yellow leaves fall on the desolate garrison; with high spirit you leave the old pass. High winds await at the Hanyang ferry; the rising sun, over the hills of Yingmen. On the river, how many old friends remain? From the sky's edge a lone oar returns. When shall we meet again? Then a cup of wine will comfort our parting faces.
