Original Poem
几行归塞尽，念尔独何之。
暮雨相呼失，寒塘欲下迟。
渚云低暗度，关月冷相随。
未必逢矰缴，孤飞自可疑。
Pinyin
jǐ háng guī sāi jìn， niàn ěr dú hé zhī。
mù yǔ xiāng hū shī， hán táng yù xià chí。
zhǔ yún dī àn dù， guān yuè lěng xiāng suí。
wèi bì féng zēng jiǎo， gū fēi zì kě yí。
English Meaning
Lines of geese have vanished beyond the frontier — where, all alone, are you going? In evening rain you cry for the lost flock; above the cold pond you hesitate to descend. Under low clouds past the islets, in the cold light of the pass moon, you fly on. Perhaps you will meet no fowler's arrow — yet a solitary flight is ever uncertain.
