十年生死两茫茫。
不思量。
自难忘。
千里孤坟，无处话凄凉。
纵使相逢应不识，尘满面，鬓如霜。
夜来幽梦忽还乡。
小轩窗。
正梳妆。

料得年年断肠处，明月夜，短松冈。

English Meaning
Ten years — the living and the dead, both vast, both dim. I do not think of it, yet never forget. A lonely grave a thousand li away — nowhere to speak my desolation. Even should we meet, you would not know me: dust covers my face, my temples like frost. Last night in a dark dream I suddenly went home; by the small window you were combing your hair. We gazed at each other without a word — only a thousand streams of tears. Year after year my heart must break at the place: moonlit night, the ridge of short pines.

About the Poem
Su Shi's (1037–1101) dream elegy for his first wife Wang Fu, dead ten years, written in Mizhou in 1075. The plainest words in all Song ci — the mute gaze across the dream window — made it the canonical Chinese poem of conjugal grief.
