HSK 1 Writing Characters 书写字
There is no handwriting requirement at HSK 1. Writing starts at HSK 2 with 100 characters; the full HSK 2–7-9 writing list is 1,200 characters.
Why no list?
Recognition starts at HSK 1, writing at HSK 2
HSK uses two character lists. 认读字 are the characters you must recognise in reading; they start at HSK 1. 书写字 are the characters you must hand-write; the official list starts at HSK 2.
